Welcome to week 6 of 37. Students are at the end of MAP testing (make-ups next week), and we have begun to move forward with our Island Map project. Students will work every day for a few minutes to make their map keys, draw their landforms and bodies of water, and add all of the required elements in order to be finished by the due date. We are all excited to get to the day when students will do their presentations, and share their "Islands."
Service Project: HandsOnGreaterPortland Greeting Cards for Meals on Wheels. Please remember, if you have an idea, or a service project our fifth graders can be a part of, let us know!

Bible: Continue Purposeful Design Lesson 2: Abraham Trusts and Obeys.
Memory Verse: Hebrews 11:17, By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a
sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only
Math: Go Math Chapter 1 Check up/Review (Quiz). Math practice and helps: Think Central (our
new math program online), and Khan Academy.
History: Continue Geography Unit. Continue towork on Island Map at school. Landforms and
bodies of water list due MONDAY.
Science: Cont. Science ECOPOP Unit.
- Reading: Treasures. Unit 2.
- Writing: Continue Six Traits of Writing: "Ideas" Googleclassroom.com
- Spelling: Unit 3 Review, Skills and Proofreading tests.
- Vocabulary: Working on math terms from Go Math Chapter 1.
- Grammar: Cont. Preposition unit. Easy Grammar for 5th Grade. Preposition quiz Fri. Final words on list.
- Penmanship: Handwriting Without Tears.
